What does the qualification cover?

The qualification covers skill and knowledge needed to deal with a range of first aid situations. This will include: managing an unresponsive casualty, CPR, choking, external bleeding, shock and minor injuries.

Who is it suitable for?

This qualification is aimed at learners who need to provide basic first aid to people they are caring for when dealing with an emergency at work, or in voluntary and community activities.

How is it assessed?

By 5 practical demonstrations and a multiple choice theory test.

How long does it take to complete

Learners should expect 6 hours of learning, over one day. With a minimum contact time of 4 hours.
